1.  Introduction

Welcome to Rural IT! We provide reliable rural internet solutions, website design, hosting, branding, IT support, electronics, and AI guidance tailored for rural homes and small businesses.

These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Rural IT (“we”, “our”) and our clients (“you”, “your”) purchasing our services. By engaging with Rural IT—whether for internet installations, website development, hosting, or tech support—you agree to the terms set out below.

We aim to make tech accessible, seamless, and stress-free, helping rural businesses and homes stay connected, efficient, and future-ready. If you have any questions about these terms, feel free to reach out—we’re here to help.

2.  Definitions

In these Terms & Conditions, the following definitions apply:

“Rural IT” / “The Rural IT Guy” – Refers to the business providing internet solutions, website design & hosting, IT support, electronics, and AI guidance.

“Client” / “Customer” – Any individual, business, or entity engaging with Rural IT for services.

“Services” – Includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Internet kit supply, setup, and installation for rural homes & caravans.
  2. Website design, hosting, and branding for small businesses.
  3. IT support, electronics assistance, and AI guidance (when applicable).


“Contract”
– A binding agreement is formed when a Client:

  • Makes payment via the provided Stripe invoice/payment link.
  • Requests service and agrees to terms, including call-outs or consultations.

“Payment” – Transactions are securely processed via Stripe, covering all major payment methods. A receipt is issued upon confirmation.

“Liability” – Rural IT is not responsible for third-party service limitations, including mobile network coverage, hosting provider performance, or external hardware/software failures.

“Privacy Policy” – Personal data is handled per UK GDPR standards, as outlined in our separate Privacy Policy.

3.  Services Offered

3.1 Internet Kit, Setup & Installation

Rural IT provides high-speed rural mobile (LTE) internet solutions, including equipment supply and installation for locations where fixed broadband may be unavailable.

Service Scope:

Equipment is provided along with installation where applicable.

Internet performance is dependent on mobile signal availability—while we optimise setup for the best possible speed, external factors may impact performance.

Support & Aftercare:

Included support:

  • 3 months of post-installation assistance via email or a visit if required (local visits included; non-local may incur additional costs).
  • Support covers installed kit but does not include troubleshooting personal devices (e.g., smartphones, laptops, smart TVs).
  

Ongoing support:

  • After 3 months, email support
    continues for up to one year.
  • Visits for troubleshooting
    beyond the initial support period are chargeable per incident and visit.

3.2 Website Design, Hosting & Branding

Rural IT provides website design, hosting, and branding solutions tailored for small businesses, ensuring a professional online presence with minimal hassle.

Website Design & Hosting

  • Clients receive a complete website package as defined on our website: Website Pricing.
  • Hosting is included with all designs, unless special consideration applies.
  • Websites can include assistance with text and imagery, but clients must provide any specific content within agreed timescales.
  • A Client Brief Form helps determine requirements, supplemented by email and voice consultations when needed.
  • Ongoing site maintenance is available via additional maintenance packages.
 

Branding & Additional Services

  • Branding services, including logo creation, business cards, and much more, are detailed on our website: Branding Pricing.
 

Client requirements are discussed via a combination of Client Brief Form, email, and voice calls.

3.3 IT, Electronics & AI Support

IT & Electronics Support

  • Services include hardware repairs, setup, troubleshooting, and consultancy, provided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Support is available on-site and remotely, depending on client requirements.
 

Call-Out & Hourly Pricing

  • Local call-out (within 25 miles): £30 + £15 per 30 minutes from arrival.
  • Call-out beyond 25 miles: £60 + £15 per 30 minutes.
  • Call-out beyond 50 miles: Pricing to be agreed with the client.
  • Emergency call-out local (outside business hours or priority service): £90 + £15 per 30 minutes.
  • Emergency call-out non-local (outside business hours or priority service): Pricing to be agreed with the client.
  • Standard hourly rate for IT support: £30 per hour.
 

AI Advice & Training

  • Rural IT provides introduction-to-AI sessions tailored for small businesses, helping them understand and integrate AI into their workflow.
  • AI support focuses on advisory & training rather than technical development.
 
 4.  Pricing, Payment & Billing

4.1 Payment Methods & Process

  • All payments are processed securely via Stripe—no other payment methods are accepted.
  • Services are generally paid upfront, except for website design, where a three-payment plan is available.
  • Website designs will not be made live until all payments have been completed in full.
 

4.2 Invoices & Receipts

  • Invoices are typically issued before work begins.
  • For urgent call-outs, invoices may be sent after the service is provided.
  • No full refunds are offered for website design or internet kits, unless mutually agreed by both parties.
 

4.3 Late Payments & Service Policy

  • All invoices have a standard payment term of 7 days, which can be extended to a maximum of 30 days upon agreement.
  • No payment = no further service or support under any condition.
  • Late payments result in service delays, and possible additional penalties including interest charges.
 

5.  Service Availability & Limitations

5.1 Geographic Availability

Rural IT provides internet installation services primarily in Norfolk and South Lincolnshire within the UK.

  • Call-out services for IT, electronics, and AI support are available, but pricing varies by location (see Section 3.3).
  • Website design and hosting services are available to clients across and outside the UK, as these do not require in-person support.
 

5.2 Service Limitations

  • Internet solutions depend on mobile signal strength; Rural IT optimises setup but cannot guarantee specific speeds or coverage.
  • Website design is based on predefined package offerings (see Section 3.2); requests outside standard packages (e.g., advanced custom coding) may not be supported.
  • AI guidance is limited to introductory advisory sessions for small businesses—technical development and custom AI programming are not included.
  • IT & electronics support covers setup, troubleshooting, and consultancy but does not guarantee compatibility with third-party devices or software beyond standard configurations.
 

6.  Liability & Disclaimers

6.1 General Liability

  • Rural IT provides services with reasonable care and expertise, but does not guarantee specific outcomes beyond standard service expectations.
  • Clients acknowledge that internet speeds, mobile signal quality, website functionality, and third-party service performance may vary due to factors beyond Rural IT’s control.
 

6.2 Third-Party Services & Products

  • Rural IT is not liable for failures or limitations caused by third-party providers (e.g., mobile networks, hosting companies, or payment processors).
  • Any warranties for hardware or software used in installations or websites are subject to manufacturer terms.
 

6.3 IT, Electronics & AI Guidance Limitations

  • IT support, electronics assistance, and AI guidance are advisory—Rural IT is not responsible for data loss, hardware failures, or unintended consequences resulting from client actions.
  • AI advice is limited to introductory training and does not include full system development or deep AI integrations.
 

6.4 Service Interruptions & Changes

  • Rural IT reserves the right to adjust, modify, or discontinue services where necessary (e.g., due to external disruptions, supplier changes, non-payment, or unforeseen circumstances).
 

7.  Customer Responsibilities

7.1 General Responsibilities

  • Clients must provide accurate information regarding their service requirements.
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring timely responses to inquiries, including website content submission and installation scheduling.
 

7.2 Internet Kit & Installation

  • Customers must confirm their property is suitable for installation and acknowledge that internet performance depends on mobile signal strength.
  • Clients must follow usage guidelines for provided equipment—improper handling may void any included support.
 

7.3 Website Design, Branding & Hosting

  • Clients must submit required content (text, images, and business details) within agreed timescales to avoid project delays.
  • Rural IT is not responsible for website content ownership disputes—clients must ensure all supplied materials comply with copyright laws.
  • Clients are expected to review website drafts and provide timely feedback during development.
 

7.4 IT, Electronics & AI Support

  • Clients must ensure safe and reasonable working conditions for call-outs and onsite support.
  • AI guidance is advisory only—clients are responsible for any implementation beyond standard recommendations.
 

8.  Privacy & Data Protection

Rural IT is committed to protecting client data in accordance with UK GDPR regulations. Our full Privacy Policy, detailing how we collect, store, and process personal information, can be found here.

By engaging with Rural IT’s services, clients acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy.

9.  Termination & Modifications

9.1 Termination of Services

  • Either Rural IT or the Client may terminate an agreement if services are no longer required or if obligations are not met.
  • Rural IT reserves the right to decline or discontinue services if:
  • Payment is not received within the agreed timeframe (see Section 4).
  • The Client fails to provide necessary information or causes unreasonable delays.
  • The Client engages in unlawful, fraudulent, or unethical activity related to services.
 

9.2 Refunds Upon Termination

Website design, internet kit, branding & any ongoing service purchases are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed by both parties.

If a service is discontinued by Rural IT, a partial refund may be considered depending on work completed.

9.3 Modifications to Terms & Services

  • Rural IT may update these Terms & Conditions as necessary to reflect changes in services, pricing, or legal compliance.
  • The latest version of the Terms & Conditions will always be available our T&Cs Page.
  • Clients are responsible for checking this page periodically, as continued use of services implies acceptance of the updated terms.
 

10.  Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

10.1 Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any disputes, claims, or legal matters related to Rural IT’s services will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
 

10.2 Dispute Resolution Process

  • If a dispute arises, clients must first contact Rural IT to seek a resolution.
  • If an agreement cannot be reached, mediation or other informal methods may be considered before pursuing legal action.
  • Rural IT is committed to fair, transparent resolutions to maintain positive working relationships with clients.
